Through Television’s Lens: The WDAY TV Negative Collection

February 1, 2023 - July 16, 2023
3rd Floor West Hall Case

The WDAY TV Negative collection is made up of over 2700 negatives shot by WDAY photographers for advertising and promotional purposes in the 1960s. Advertising images include interior and exterior views of area businesses, products and the owners and staff of companies used in broadcast advertisements. Promotional photos include shots of local productions, on-air and behind the scenes staff and operations. Television, advertising and society have all changed dramatically in the last fifty years. These images provide a unique view of our community and ourselves as seen through the lens of 1960s TV advertising.
