HCSCC's Mission

The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County's mission is to collect, preserve, interpret, and share the history and culture of Clay County, Minnesota.

In short, we tell local stories to, for, and about our community.

HCSCC directs the Clay County archives and collections, as well as the museum in the City of Moorhead's Hjemkomst Center. The museum includes two major local artifacts, the Hjemkomst Viking Ship and Moorhead's Hopperstad Stave Church, major and local exhibitions, and regular programming that includes lectures, receptions, and festivals.
