Quilt National '19 Heritage Hall July 30 through September 30, 2020
The Dairy Barn Art Center's 19th biennial juried exhibition of innovative art quilts comes to Fargo-Moorhead. This beautiful, multicultural showcase leaves an impression — and, as previous juror Judy Schwender once noted, "proves to the larger world out there that quilting is an art form on a level with traditional fine art mediums."
Quilt National '19 was juried by Francoise Barnes, artist and co-founder of Quilt National, Carolyn Ducey, curator of collections at the International Quilt Study Center and Museum at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Judy Kirpich, artist and designer whose works has featured in Quilt National. Over three days in Athens, Ohio, the jury selected the exhibition with careful consideration to detail. This biennial features 84 of the best in contemporary quilts, selected from 700 submissions by 375 artists, and the entries come from 19 countries and 40 U.S. states. The selected 84 artists come from 26 U.S. states and 6 countries, offering an eclectic and diverse look at....the quilt.
