Pangea: Cultivate Our Cultures Saturday, November 17 10:00AM - 4:00PM Hjemkomst Center
Join us at the Hjemkomst Center on Saturday, November 18, for Pangea: Cultivate Our Cultures, the largest free, family-friendly celebration of cultural diversity in the community. In fact, one of the few festivals of its size and kind in the Midwest, Pangea marks its 24th year of highlighting the global roots of the local Fargo-Moorhead community and continues to offer visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the region’s vibrant diversity through food, music, arts, crafts, stories, and children’s activities.
This year’s lineup will include music and dance performances carried from dozens of countries by current Fargo-Moorhead residents, from Native American music and dance to Bhutanese dancers to Filipino-American music. Last year's festival (2017) featured a new element, introducing several members of HCSCC’s exhibition of Green Card Voices, who read their stories from the main stage. Plans are in the works for something similar with The World in Fargo-Moorhead.

In addition to the main stage entertainment, the auditorium will be full of “Tastes of the World,” the annual festival’s offering of traditional global foods. This year’s menu includes items as far-reaching as Haitian chicken creole, French-Canadian crepes, Mexican burritos, spiced Indian chai, German currywurst, and Filipino lumpia.
Booths showcasing local arts, crafts, import vendors, educators, and community programs will be stationed throughout the Hjemkomst Center, along with HCSCC’s current exhibitions.

Pangea—Cultivate Our Cultures is made possible by the generous donations and the involvement of HCSCC’s collaborators (Cultural Diversity Resources, New American Consortium, and Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota), sponsors, and community partners. All of these organizations and individuals work to make Pangea an accessible and inclusive event. As such, admission is free; and audio description, human guides, alternative print formats, and ASL interpretation will be available upon request.
