Comstock Presentation: The Brave Women of World War I

April 27, 2017 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
The Comstock House
506 8th St S
Moorhead, MN 56560

Angela Beaton, a NDSU graduate student, will discuss the brave women who served as nurses during World War I, including Jessie Comstock, daughter of Solomon and Sarah Comstock.

While the United States didn’t officially enter the war until 1917, Americans, particularly women, joined the Red Cross and the Army Nurse Corps as soon as the war broke out in 1914. It was dangerous and exhausting work that they volunteered to do. Angela will share some of these experiences, commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the U.S.’s entrance into World War.

While the talk begins at 6:30PM, feel free to come early (6:00PM) or stay late to enjoy refreshments from Red Raven Espresso Parlor and explore one of Moorhead’s most historic homes.
